Find the Buoy Holiday Scavenger Hunt Winners!

We appreciate everyone who took the time to enter the Find the Buoy Holiday Scavenger Hunt in Stonington Borough. Bringing the merchants and community together this holiday season was the highlight of our year, and we’re delighted to announce our two winners!

Laura Jackson, Borough resident and busy mom, was the winner of one week of 1/2 day camp at New England Science and Sailing (NESS)

Find the Buoy Scavenger Hunt Winner Laura Jackson

The Buoy Scavenger Hunt was such a fun addition to the holiday season in the Borough. It prompted me to visit several shops for the first time, even though I’ve lived in the Borough for almost ten years. It also turned the holiday errand-running into a bit of a game; my young children were much more willing to tag along when there was a buoy to find! I hope it becomes a local tradition.

My husband and I had a blast doing the hunt together. We discovered so many interesting shops that we weren’t aware of, and we enjoyed meeting all the merchants and some not even in the village like Fun and Wm. Cole that had such great gifts. This is wonderful!

It sounds like our merchants had a festive holiday season as well:

It seems like everyone is having a great time! Lots of first-time people at Wm. Cole - some just want the stamp but some stick around and shop! I’ve heard great things about the Hunt, the Lobster Pot Tree, the Stroll! What a great kick-off to December but also a great way to end the year!
— Chelsea Parrilla, chair of the Find the Buoy Holiday Scavenger Hunt and owner of Wm. Cole

LOVED the scavenger hunt! It was a blast and brought a lot of new people in. We played “warmer, colder” and had so much fun!
